What do YOU do when you've got time to kill?

It's a Saturday afternoon, you're home with just you and your husband, and you have a few hours to kill? What's the first thing that you want to do? Well, I don't know about you, but I wanted to style Nicks hair! He is growing it out right now so he can dread it. (It's one of his life long goals, so I am not about to get in the was of it.) It's getting pretty long, so I wanted to see if I could corn roll it. I figure the first thing I had to do was straighten it so it would be easier to manage. Here's what he looked like with it just straightened. Hahahahahahaha. Totally Asian! He's even doing the peace sign, but it got cut out of the picture.
So after I straightened it, I began my first attempt to corn roll. Oh how frustrated I got. Finally, after about 25 minutes and about 1000 attempts, I told him I was just going to experiment and we'll see how it turns out. As I was doing it, I was trying to explain to him what it was I was doing, and he started getting worried saying that he was going to look like a little black girl with her hair in rubber bands. I tried to reassure him that he didn't and we just needed to wait until it was finished. Half way through, I ran out of rubber bands, so I ran to the store. I made him PROMISE me that he wouldn't look in the mirror while I was gone. He kept his word. When I finally got home, I did the last few rows, and finished my first "corn rolling" experience. He're is what the finished product looked like.

We ended up going to a BBQ at his friend Kyle's that night and he put a bandanna over it. He totally looked like a thug, and I loved it! Hopefully he'll let me experiment on him again! :)

Co-Ed Soccer Team!

So I can't stop thinkin about it! I have my first co-ed soccer game today! I am kinda nervous about it, but SOOO excited at the same time. I love how competitive it is when you're playing with guys, but I also hate when they don't pass it to you because they don't think "you're good enough." We have our first game in like 4 hours, and it is all I can think about! I'm pretty dang excited!! I bet you're all wondering if Nick is playing too? Nope. They invited him, but he's playing Rugby right now and doesn't want to risk getting hurt playing on a little indoor team. So, it's just me! But he'll still be there to cheer me on! Can't wait! :)

"Paradise." The one word says it all.

So for the past 11 days, my hubby and I have been in Hawaii! It was AMAZING! I could try and explain to you about all of the beauty, but I can't find the words to actually describe it. I have hundreds of pictures, but they just don't give it justice. Kauai is DEFINITELY a place you should all put on your "must visit" list! I will just give you an outline, with pictures, of the things we did in Hawaii!

We got there late in the evening, about when the sun was setting. Now, you gotta understand that this was my first time on a plane, so I was amazed at everything! This was the first picture I took of the "sunset" in Hawaii. It was such a beautiful sight.

Since it was pretty late (Utah time), we decided to hit the sack early, which meant only one thing... we woke up early the next morning! When I say early, I mean like 3:00am early. Which is 7:00am in Utah, the time Nick and I usually wake up. What is there to do at 3 in the morning? Well, we forced ourselves to get at least one more hour of sleep so we wouldn't be completely drained. So about 4:30ish, we decided to go for a walk on the beach, which was right across the street from our condo. As we walked, we saw some pretty amazing things... blow fish, flowers, coral, and my favorite...the homeless man with dreads. I didn't dare to take a picture, so let me explain. He was standing out on a rock in the Ocean, with dreads down to his knees. White, loose button up shirt, with cut off pants. The wind was blowing, which meant so were his dreads. He looked like Pocahontas. It was hilarious. Later that day, we met up with his family and went to the "touristy" sights. It was, by far, the most beautiful lookout I have ever seen. So beautiful, in fact, that they used footage from this place in the temple video. (Shhhh...don't tell!)

We went to plenty of other beautiful sights, but that was by far my favorite.

Since we were there for 11 days, we got to go to church TWICE!! This was an amazing experience for me. Going to a place where I was foreign to everything, it felt good to find something familiar.

Of course, there was tons and tons and TONS of swimming! In the ocean, pool, hot tubs. You name it, we swam there. We even got to swim with giant sea turtles and beautiful colorful fish.

We spent a lot of time with our family. Cousins, Uncles, Aunties, brothers, sisters, mom and dad. And of course friends! :)

But my favorite thing of all was spending ALL my time with my hubby.

Yes, that is his bum crack.

I didn't notice until AFTER the picture was taken. Ha ha. Oh well, makes for a good laugh.

You can't go to Hawaii without getting a picture of a flower in your hair.

Or getting a snow cone the size of your head.

Or getting a picture flashin' the "Hang Loose" sign.

Or going on a romantic date...

We put aside one night to go on a date. That night was amazing. He took me to a place called "Spouting Horn," which is a beautiful place on the beach where the water shoots us like a geyser. Then to dinner at a fancy restaurant with delicious food. To finish off the night, we went to the beach and listened the waves as we talked and remminisced about our wonderful vacation. I cannot even express how much I love my man. He's definitely my the best friend I could ever ask for.

Eventually, we had to leave this paradise and return back to real life. When we laid down to sleep the last night, I ended up breaking down in tears. I had such an amazing time. I got to spend every waking minute with Nick. As soon as we would get off that plane, work, school, and LIFE would come rushing back to us. We would see each other only a few hours a day, if we were lucky. The thought of that just made me cry. I love being with Nick. Now I just have to cherish the few moments that our schedules don't conflict and we get to spend precious time together.

Goodbye Hawaii. Thanks for the great memories! :)

Attempting to Blog

So honestly, this is my first time being in charge of a blog! Lots of pressure, I know. I cannot get any worse, and I am confident I will get better, with the help of all of you that is. I will tell you a little about us and what's going on. Mmmmkay?

First off, Nick and I have been married for 3 months and 1 day. Long time, I know. But what a 3 months and 1 day it has been! I have loved pretty much every minute of it. We're still adjusting to the whole "married life," but we're doing it together, which makes it all the more fun. I was asked the question yesterday, "What do you think is the hardest thing about being married, and what is your favorite thing about being married?" Hmmmm. That's a tough one. Of course, I wanted to say that hardest part first, so I could end on a good note. I would have to say the toughest part about being married is adjusting to living with someone of the opposite sex. We do things differently. He's cleans right after something gets dirty, I wait until there is lots to clean. Just one tiny example. It's different being with someone ALL the time. I love love LOVE it!! BUT, I just feel bad because I take all my frustration out on him because I am with him all the time. Even if my frustration has nothing to do with him at all. It makes me feel bad and I always apologize. So, personally, that is the toughest thing that I have faced SO FAR being married. My favorite thing about being married is waking up to him. I don't know what it is, but I just get so happy every morning, seeing him by my side. There are very few things that are better. I sometimes purposely set my alarm clock for earlier so it will wake me up and I will have time to cuddle between hitting the snooze button. I do that just about every morning. You gotta make time to cuddle!! :) It is really comforting to me also to know that I am going to be with him for eternity. That I can wake up every morning for the rest of EVER next to my best friend in the whole world. Does it get better than that? I am very easy to please, obviously, if waking up is my favorite thing. Trust me, with Nick, everything is amazing!

I am very lucky to have met him when I did. Now that I have him in my life, I don't know I would do without him. I am very excited to see what the future brings. Life is definitely an adventure married to Nick. Anyways, this is just my first post, so I will not make it any longer than it needs to be. Thanks for reading. Love ya.
