Count Your Blessings

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to
move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence."

That quote is definitely for me.
I know we can all somehow apply it to ourselves.

Everyone goes through these phases,
Thinking the grass is always greener on the other side.
Never happy with what they have,
And always wanting more, more, more.

Well recently, I was in this phase.
Our one-bedroom apartment isn't big enough,
Or decorated all festively as most houses we walk into this time of year.
We don't make enough money or
get as many hours as we'd like to at our jobs.
I don't have children like everyone else, so I don't fit in the way I'd like to.
I don't have as cute of clothes as everyone else,
or have all the yummy food filling our cupboards or refrigerator.

I had to snap out of this phase, but it was so hard for me to do.
I changed my attitude and began to count my blessings.

Whether or not my apartment is big, clean, and decorated,
I am so blessed to even have a roof over my head.
Even if our jobs don't pay as much as we'd like,
At least we are blessed enough to have jobs with this economy.
No, my personal little family is not growing at the rapid rate I'd like,
But at least I am blessed enough to have the man of
My dreams that I come home to daily.
He's the best companion I could ask for,
and can bring a smile to my face at any given moment.
Our food storage may not be the same as someone who's been saving for years,
But slowly we're getting there, one day at a time.
I am just grateful that I even have food to eat each day.

Once I began to count my blessings, things began to look
a lot "brighter" for us because of my own personal attitude change.
Because we pay our tithing faithfully, Nick got a job promotion.
He is now manager, which comes with a big raise, and more hours.
(And more responsibility, but he can handle it)
I am go grateful for the blessings that the Lord has given me and Nick.

They keep coming and coming, (not just to us, but to everyone).
They're always there, it's just a matter of your personal outlook.
Take a second to look around at all that you are blessed with, and
I can promise you that things will instantly begin to look brighter for you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
